brief description:
Next to the former Velsen coal mine, in a variegated sandstone slope, 30 meters high, face lines of a total length of 700 meters were driven onto 3 levels and technically set up in such a way that the underground area and equipment exactly resemble the environment and infrastructure of a coal mine. Of particular interest for film productions is the fact that one can find authentic underground conditions without actually having to descend into an underground gallery.

coal extraction machinery, enormous chocks supporting the roof of the coalface, conveyor belts, electrical machinery, pump stations (all fully functional). Because of its exceptional structural conditions, the Velsen Coal Mine offers a remarkably unique environment for filming and festivities. Upon prior consultation with the mine operators, (almost) all ideas and concepts can be put into practice.

car:
coming from Saarbrücken on the A620, going in the direction of Saarlouis, take the junction Saarbrücken-Klarenthal (AS 11). At the second light, turn left and continue in the direction of Velsen (Kokerei / Raffineriestraße). Behind the woodland, turn left and follow the signposts indicating the Velsen Coal Mine (Erlebnisbergwerk Velsen).
