Asian garden

brief description:

In 2007, between the Theel stream and the high track of the orbital road, the Asian garden was completed. It was created based on the model of traditional Chinese gardens. It is unique in the Saarland. The terrain of 2,400qm was laid out in the course of employment and qualification measures by asylum seekers.

It was the aim to "reach harmony between earth, sky, stones, water, buildings, paths and plants, the so-called seven things". The garden's central resting point is the pagoda. Its eight sides stand for the eight elements and the  four cardinal points and the four intermediate directions. Here, guests from all directions should come together.

On the left side of the pagoda, a bridge crosses an artificial water. It is aligned in zigzag because there is the belief that evil spirits only move straight. The semicircular round arch bridge on the right side of the pagoda reflects in the water to a full circle, which is the Chinese symbol for heaven.
