this indoor market is situated in the very heart of Metz, right next to Saint-Etienne Cathedral. Originally, the building was designed to serve as Bishops Palace. However, construction work was disrupted by the French Revolution in 1789, and the palace was never finished. Since 1831, the building is being used as an indoor market.
