Wildlife Preserve and Hiking Park in Weiskirchen-Rappweiler

pictures

description

brief description:

the game reserve with natural preserve is situated near the town of Rappweiler, which is part of the health resort of Weiskirchen. Nestled in a wooded mountainous landscape (580-660 m), it houses a large population of stags and fallow deer in spacious enclosures that resemble their natural habitat. The red deer park, for example, is especially impressive with animals wandering about freely in a 30 hectare savannah-style environment. Visitors can stop at the Waldgasthof Wildpark for a bite to eat. The inn (open Tuesdays 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm and Wednesdays - Sundays 10:30 am - 10:00 pm; closed on Mondays) offers a nice selection of regional specialties. The adjoining beer garden is an equally popular stop-off point where - provided the skies are clear - guests can enjoy a wonderful vista all the way to neighbouring France
