Château Thillombois

description

brève description:

in the 19th century, the Château of Thillombois underwent extensive alterations under the supervision of the Nettancourt-Vaubécourts, an illustrious family who owned the château until 1961, when the city of Mantes-la-Ville transformed it into a holiday camp. In 1991, the municipal administration decided to rent the property for a period of 30 years to the Association Connaissance de la Meuse, a non-profit organisation striving to preserve and to promote the regional heritage. Supported by public funding, patrons, sponsors and, not to forget, an army of volunteers, the association had very important restoration works done, roused the château from slumber and transformed it into a cultural-touristic magnet full of life. The château is also host to a great number and variety of events all year round.
